Samsung Launches USB-C To HDMI Dongle For DeX Feature in Galaxy Note 9

With the launch of the Galaxy Note 9 earlier last month, Samsung has updated the DeX functionality that lets you connect your phone to a display for a PC-like experience. You no longer need to buy a pricey DeX Pad or dock to make it work. All you need is aUSB-C  to HDMI cable to bring DeX to life.

If you’ve already picked up the Galaxy Note 9 and plan to use the DeX feature, then you must have on the hunt for a decent USB-C to HDMI dongle. Well, you don’t need to look any further as Samsung has launched an official USB-C to HDMI adapter for Galaxy Note 9 users. It’s available in India on Amazon for Rs 3,483.

The product listing of Samsung’s official USB-C to HDMI dongle, as seen above, reveals that it supports resolution up to UltraHD (3840×2160 pixels) and 4K screens with 60Hz refresh rate. It uses the HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2 standards to help you get started with DeX or enjoy movies on a bigger screen.

This adapter does not only work with the Galaxy Note 9 but is also said to be compatible with other USB-C Samsung phones including the Galaxy S8/ S8 Plus and Galaxy S9/ S9 Plus. Since the dock-less DeX feature is restricted to the Note 9, you can it to mirror the smartphone screen on your TV or monitor to demo projects or something.
