Motorola One is coming to the US with Android One for $399

We’ve been hearing about the Motorola One for months now. Back in June, some press renders were leaked that showed what the device was going to look like. A month later the device appeared on China’s certification website, TENAA, and then we got an idea as to what type of specs we were to expect from the new Android One smartphone from Motorola. These details were early though cause it would be another 2 months until we the Motorola One and the Motorola One Power officially announced. At the time we were told these devices would be available in India, Europe, Latin America, and Asia Pacific countries, but now we have learned that the Motorola One will start shipping in the United States later this month.

Many would classify the Motorola One as an upper mid-range smartphone and its price tag makes that fairly obvious. The Snapdragon 625 is nice but it isn’t anything to call home about, but it does come with 4GB of RAM (which some flagship smartphones are still shipping with these days) and 64GB of internal storage (which is expandable). As it is an Android One smartphone, you can expect the software to be quite clean. Speaking of software, Motorola has come out and promised that it will receive updates to both Android Pie (the device ships with Android 8.1 Oreo) as well as Android Q.

Motorola received a lot of flack about the 2015 Moto E and its promised update. However, it was only rolled out in select regions so we’ll just have to wait and see how the company handles these promised updates as well. The Motorola One is currently available for pre-order in the United States for $400, but it won’t start shipping until November 9th.
